Signs of Guidance

I get a lot of information from Nature. Probably because I spent so much time in it as a child, being a part of It, like climbing high into a tree and swaying with the wind. Nature for me is renewal and peace. There is a particular image that has stayed in my mind for several days now…from when I was in Carmel…

It is of the ocean current coming ashore. After a stormy day of big waves and lots of wind, sun, but cold and blustery air, was a day of calm, warm to the point of walking with a tee-shirt on the beach and the ocean was very calm. I remember standing looking at the shoreline of this cove and being transfixed with the image of the water coming in so velvety on the grainy sand, withdrawing, leaving the darkened outline which faded, then the velvet swath again. Over and over I watched and it was never quite the same yet somehow so restorative, as if to highlight the ever present regularity that life comes back to again and again. 

It’s inherent in the system. And although the rhythmic continuum is ever changing it was telling me that under all the show and drama rests a force that I can always count on to be there for me, that holds me. That we are one and the same.
