Signs of Guidance

I have a blocked kitchen drain. OK, this might seem to be a stretch but if I am to stick with the belief that I create everything that comes into my experience, then I have to accept that I’ve created this too. I have been feeling blocked, stuck, frustrated with ‘progress’ in my life. So maybe it is God’s way of turning up the volume here.

To make a long story short, I tried to fix it myself with a eco-friendly drain product. After initial high hopes, I had to admit defeat and call a plumber. Found one who would give a quote over the phone, a must for enquiring minds like mine that don’t like expensive surprises, and he could be here in an hour. Wow, that sounded great. And it was until they got lost, and then quoted over two hundred dollars for a ’snake’ job (more than double what they said over the phone). Bye-bye.

Next, get the yellow pages back out and call back the one who sounded like he actually owned the company, but was totally booked for today (taken as a good sign!) He was still booked, but offered to contact me if that changed, and also recommended another person to try for today. This is getting better. I called the referral, who was also booked. And asked him to take my name and number, and threw in where I lived in case he’d be ‘in the neighborhood.’ It turned out he would be, he used to live here (so he wouldn’t get lost), and could stop by on his way home, right between my two client calls this afternoon. How’s that for perfect timing! I explained all the particular ins-and-outs of my sink set-up and asked if it would be a problem. “No,” he said, “Sounds pretty normal to me.”

After ‘preparing the area,’ clearing the access to the clean-out, I took my dog and headed for the hills for a walk. I have to admit that no matter what happens, I feel more freeflowing.
