This morning, while walking Comet, my dog, in the hills, I was listening to a taped session with my coach. I was hearing myself question whether or not I’ve really ‘made any progress’ in my life, am I really New in my life today as a result of all ‘my work’. I was coming down the last hill when the batteries in the recorder started to die and stretch out our voices.
I clicked it off and was immediately startled by new sounds. A bird chirping. I looked at the tree and noticed all the sprouting leaves. As I touched them, I felt such a deep love for this process. The sound of a jackhammer in the valley below signaled new construction. The breeze on my face made me smile. Of course I am new. It all depends on what I’m listening to.
